Zach Kouwe helps lead DLPR’s asset management practice group while assisting across the agency in crisis communications and content development. Zach is also a key member of DLPR’s institutional and alternatives practice group. He works closely with the firm’s highest profile clients, including hedge funds, private equity firms and activist investors, to devise and execute their strategic communications plans. He also counsels clients on transactions and litigation situations and drafts thought leadership, web content and other written communications.
Zach joined DLPR in early 2011 after nearly a decade as a financial journalist, most recently for The New York Times, where he covered hedge funds, mergers & acquisitions, private equity and white-collar crime.
From 2005 to 2008, Zach was the chief mergers & acquisitions reporter for the business section of the New York Post. Prior to that, he covered private equity for Dow Jones, worked as a general assignment reporter for the Denver Post and covered ETFs and market structure for Institutional Investor.
Zach holds a B.S. in Economics and History from Hamilton College and an M.A. in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is an associate member of the New York Financial Writers Association.
